1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant – Grays

About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic graduate to provide one‑to‑one support for a pupil with special educational needs in a primary school in Grays. The role offers valuable experience working alongside specialist therapists, teachers and educational psychologists.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one support to a pupil with SEN (ASD, dyslexia, ADHD) in KS1 & KS2.
• Assist the class teacher in adapting lessons and resources to meet the pupil’s needs.
• Help manage behaviour and promote a positive learning environment.
• Collaborate with specialist staff such as behavioural therapists and educational psychologists.
• Monitor progress and report observations to the teaching team.

Required profile

• Graduate (e.g., Psychology, Criminology, Social Sciences) or equivalent experience.
• Understanding of special educational needs and willingness to develop expertise.
• Experience working with children, either personally or professionally.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
