1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant – Primary School (Enfield)

About the role

This full‑time, long‑term position provides one‑to‑one support for a Year 5 pupil with ADHD in an inclusive primary school in Enfield. Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO, you will help the pupil stay engaged, develop positive learning behaviours, and reach their full potential throughout the school day.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver personalised academic and emotional support to the assigned pupil on a daily basis.
• Implement and adapt tailored strategies agreed with the SENCO to promote focus and positive behaviour.
• Collaborate with the class teacher to integrate support seamlessly into classroom activities.
• Monitor progress and provide regular feedback to staff and parents.
• Maintain accurate records of interventions and outcomes.

Required profile

• Previous experience working in a SEN environment, preferably with children who have ADHD.
• Patient, proactive, and confident when supporting pupils with complex needs.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Reliable and able to commute to Enfield daily.

Required skills

• Knowledge of ADHD‑specific support strategies.
• Understanding of inclusive education practices.
