1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant – Primary School (Islington)

About the role

This full‑time, long‑term position supports a Year 3 pupil with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in a welcoming primary school in Islington. You will work one‑to‑one with the child, helping them engage with lessons, build confidence and develop socially.

Key responsibilities

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support to the Year 3 pupil during classroom activities.
• Implement and follow the individual support plan created with the class teacher and SENCO.
• Encourage positive social interactions and help the pupil develop coping strategies.
• Monitor progress and report observations to the teaching team.
• Adapt learning materials and activities to meet the pupil’s specific needs.

Required profile

• Compassionate, patient and adaptable with a genuine passion for supporting children with special educational needs.
• Previous experience working with pupils who have ASD is essential.
• Ability to commute to Islington and start as soon as possible.
• Full‑time availability for a long‑term placement.
