1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant (Supply) – Primary Schools

About the role

We are recruiting a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant on a supply basis for primary schools in the Hyde area. The role provides individual support to pupils with Special Educational Needs, helping them access learning, build confidence and thrive in the classroom.

Key responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 tailored support for pupils with additional needs (e.g., ASD, ADHD, SEMH, speech & language needs).
• Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.
• Support pupils with emotional regulation and behavioural needs.
• Encourage independence and positive social interactions.
• Monitor and report on pupil progress.

Required profile

• Previous experience supporting children with SEN in a school or care setting.
• Patient, caring and adaptable approach.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
• Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, TA qualification) desirable but not essential.
