1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant (Year 5, ASD) – Haslington

About the role

We are seeking a part‑time 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a Year 5 pupil with autism in a primary school located in the Crewe/Haslington area. The role works on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and involves close collaboration with classroom staff.

Key responsibilities

• Provide individualized support to the Year 5 child with ASD during lessons.
• Assist with literacy and numeracy activities and follow the teacher’s lesson plans.
• Help the pupil engage with classroom routines and social interactions.
• Maintain accurate records of progress and communicate updates to staff.
• Support the creation of a calm, inclusive learning environment.

Required profile

• Ability to build strong relationships with pupils and adults.
• Good organisational skills and flexibility.
• Creativity, patience and a sense of humour.
• Experience working with children with autism is desirable.

Required skills

• No specific technical skills required.
