1:1 SEN Tutor for Key Stage 2 Student

About the role

Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated 1:1 tutor to support a Key Stage 2 pupil with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). The role involves delivering personalised tuition in maths, reading and writing for 2 hours each day, five days a week, totalling 10 hours per week. The position is ongoing and part‑time.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one instruction in maths, reading and writing, tailored to the pupil’s needs.
• Offer mentorship and behavioural support, helping the pupil manage inappropriate behaviour.
• Develop creative, engaging learning activities and adapt approaches as required.
• Maintain accurate records of progress and communicate updates to the school or council liaison.

Required profile

• Proven experience working with SEND or disengaged pupils.
• UK classroom teaching experience, preferably at Key Stage 2.
• Right to work in the United Kingdom.
• Enhanced DBS certificate with online update service, or willingness to obtain one.
• Two professional child‑related references.
