1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant – Autism Support

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to provide one‑to‑one support for autistic children in a Bournemouth school. The role involves delivering tailored assistance throughout the school day, helping pupils achieve their learning goals in a supportive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide individualized 1:1 support to pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
• Implement and adapt learning activities to meet each child's needs.
• Collaborate with teachers and support staff to monitor progress and adjust strategies.
• Maintain accurate records of pupil development and daily activities.
• Ensure a safe, inclusive classroom atmosphere in line with safeguarding policies.

Required profile

• Right to work in the UK and an enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
• Experience working in a UK school with SEND students, particularly those with ASD.
• Genuine interest in supporting children with complex learning needs.
• Up‑to‑date safeguarding training (or willingness to undertake training).
• Two professional, child‑related references.
