1:1 Teaching Assistant for Secondary Students (Ages 11-16)

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a secondary‑school student aged 11‑16 with additional learning needs. The position is full‑time and term‑time only, based in the Wirral area.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one academic and personal support to the assigned pupil.
• Assist the classroom teacher with lesson preparation and delivery as needed.
• Monitor the student’s progress and report observations to staff.
• Ensure the pupil’s safety and wellbeing in line with safeguarding policies.

Required profile

• Previous experience supporting young people, preferably in a secondary school setting.
• Experience in a 1:1 support role or working with pupils with SEND is highly desirable.
• Patient, empathetic and adaptable approach to individual needs.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Strong commitment to safeguarding and child welfare.
