1:1 Teaching Assistant for Year 3 Pupil (Hornchurch)

About the role

We are looking for a calm, consistent and resilient 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a Year 3 pupil who is non‑verbal and displays physical behaviour. The role is based in a welcoming primary school in Hornchurch with a supportive leadership team focused on staff wellbeing and pupil progress.

Key responsibilities

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support to the Year 3 pupil throughout the school day.
• Implement and monitor behaviour‑tracking plans in line with school policies.
• Assist the classroom teacher with lesson preparation and delivery as needed.
• Promote the pupil’s wellbeing, independence and social development.
• Participate in weekly review meetings and contribute to the pupil’s individual education plan.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a similar 1:1 or SEN support role (essential).
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
• Reliable, proactive and committed to supporting pupil wellbeing.
