1:1 Teaching Assistant

About the role

Join an outstanding special educational needs (SEN) school in Ellesmere Port as a 1:1 Teaching Assistant. You will work directly with pupils who have a range of needs, helping them to thrive academically and emotionally in a supportive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support to SEN students.
• Assist pupils in overcoming learning barriers and promote positive behaviour.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external professionals to develop personalised learning strategies.
• Implement tailored interventions and support plans.
• Encourage independence, self‑esteem and resilience through engaging activities.
• Monitor progress and give feedback to teachers to adapt teaching approaches.

Required profile

• Experience working with children or young people with SEN.
• Compassionate, patient and excellent communication skills.
• Positive, proactive attitude with the ability to inspire students.
• Understanding of SEN strategies and interventions.
• Flexible and adaptable to diverse student needs.
