1:1 Teaching Assistant – Primary School Support

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to provide personalised support to a pupil with additional needs in a welcoming primary school in Bristol. The role involves working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to help the child stay engaged and succeed throughout the school day.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver one‑to‑one assistance tailored to the pupil’s individual requirements.
• Maintain the pupil’s focus and engagement during lessons and activities.
• Collaborate closely with the class teacher and SENCO to plan and implement support strategies.
• Manage behaviour confidently and promote a positive learning environment.

Required profile

• Experience or a strong interest in SEN or behaviour management.
• Team‑player attitude with the ability to build relationships with pupils and staff.
• Calm, patient and supportive approach to learning.
• Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
