1:1 Teaching Assistant – Reception (Ellesmere Port)

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a Reception child diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder in a primary school in Little Sutton. The position starts in September 2026, is full‑time and term‑time only, and aims to help the child achieve their full potential within a caring, inclusive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Build a positive, trusting relationship with the assigned child.
• Support communication, social interaction and emotional regulation.
• Adapt learning activities to meet the child’s individual needs.
• Promote independence and inclusion within the classroom.
• Collaborate closely with the class teacher, SENDCo and external professionals.

Required profile

• Patient, proactive and enthusiastic attitude.
• Dedicated and nurturing approach to supporting children with additional needs.
• Willingness to work within safeguarding policies and undergo enhanced DBS clearance.
• Ability to work effectively with teachers, SEND coordinators and external specialists.
