1:1 Teaching Assistant – Support Pupils with Additional Needs

About the role

Reeson Education is seeking a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join a supportive, inclusive school in Rawmarsh (Rotherham). You will work closely with an individual pupil, providing personalised academic, emotional and behavioural support throughout the school day.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver one‑to‑one assistance tailored to the pupil’s learning, emotional and developmental needs.
• Adapt classroom resources and support the pupil in accessing lessons and activities.
• Implement agreed behaviour strategies to promote positive conduct and emotional regulation.
• Observe, record and report on the pupil’s academic, social and emotional progress.
• Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, parents and external professionals to ensure consistent support.

Required profile

• Previous experience working with children or young people in education, care, sports or support settings.
• Patient, empathetic and nurturing approach.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build trusting relationships with pupils.
• Experience with SEN, SEMH, Autism, ADHD or other additional needs is advantageous.

Required skills

• Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain through Reeson Education).
