1:1 Teaching Assistant – Support Student with ADHD

About the role

Prospero Teaching is looking for a compassionate and proactive 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join a secondary school in Liverpool from September 2026. You will work closely with a student diagnosed with ADHD, providing tailored academic and emotional support to help them thrive in the classroom.

Key responsibilities

• Support a specific student across the curriculum, adapting lesson materials to meet their individual needs.
• Promote engagement, confidence and independence while delivering the student’s Individual Education Plan (IEP).
• Liaise with teachers, the SENCO, and parents/carers to ensure consistent support.
• Assist with behaviour management strategies and monitor progress.

Required profile

• Experience working with young people, preferably those with additional learning needs.
• Sports background is desirable.
• Patient, empathetic and adaptable.
• Relevant qualification (e.g., Teaching Assistant) is an advantage.
• Right to work in the UK and an enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).
• Two professional references covering the last 24 months.
