12‑Month Internship in Cross‑Currency & G8 Rates Trading

About the role

This 12‑month internship supports the Cross Currency & G8 Rates Trading desk in London. You will work closely with traders handling non‑Euro rates products such as government bonds, cross‑currency swaps, interest‑rate swaps and FX. The role offers hands‑on experience in trading, pricing, hedging and regulatory reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Produce daily and periodic reports including P&L, FX exposure, funding, brokerage fees and risk assessments.
• Assist in delivering commercial contributions and activity metrics for the desk.
• Develop, maintain and enhance spreadsheets and analytical tools used by traders.
• Collect and analyse information on desk funding requirements and procedures.
• Provide explanations and indicators related to P&L performance.
• Participate in system upgrades, identifying development needs, testing and validation.
• Report informally on business‑related issues to traders and senior management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (2:1 or equivalent) in Engineering, Mathematics, Science or a related numerate discipline, graduated within the past 18 months.
• Basic understanding of macroeconomics, rates and FX markets.
• Ability to handle complex trades with minimal supervision and strong problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent planning, organisation and deadline‑adherence with meticulous attention to detail.

Required skills

• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Advanced VBA programming skills.
• Knowledge of database programming concepts.
• Analytical mindset with solid numerical capabilities.
