1st Line Engineer

About the role

Our client, a leading business in the Technology sector, is seeking a 1st Line Engineer to join their team on a full‑time, permanent basis. The role requires at least one year of full‑time IT experience and the ability to provide high‑level support to clients and users in a fast‑paced environment. Candidates must have access to their own transport to reach the West Malling office.

Key responsibilities

• Resolve technical issues for clients.
• Act as the first point of contact for users, maintaining high customer service standards.
• Work within agreed SLAs and timescales.
• Support technical issues such as password resets, user setups, software installations and VPN connectivity.
• Prioritise client issues at all times.
• Explain technical faults to a non‑technical audience.

Required profile

• Minimum of 1 year commercial experience in an IT role.
• Experience supporting a range of users at all levels.
• Comfortable acting as the first point of contact via phone and email.
• Basic networking understanding.
• Exposure to Windows Server and Office 365 Active Directory.
• Experience working on PC projects in spare time is advantageous.
