1st/2nd Line IT Support Engineer

About the role

We are looking for an experienced 1st/2nd Line IT Support Engineer to join our client‑side IT team in Manchester. The role is hands‑on, providing both remote and on‑site assistance to end‑users across hardware, software and network issues while offering clear pathways for career progression and training in cloud and on‑premise technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver 1st and 2nd line support to end users, both remotely and on‑site.
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software and network problems.
• Support Office 365, Exchange and on‑premise systems.
• Log, track and close tickets using the company’s helpdesk platform.
• Install, configure and maintain IT equipment.
• Escalate complex incidents to senior engineers when required.
• Communicate clearly with users throughout the support process.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a 1st/2nd line IT support or helpdesk role.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
