About the role
Are you an experienced 5 Axis CNC Machinist with strong setting, operating and programming skills looking for a weekend‑based role? Workshop Recruitment is recruiting for a well‑established engineering manufacturer that produces high‑performance composite components for advanced industries. The position offers a flexible 36‑ or 40‑hour week across Friday to Sunday, with a competitive hourly rate, shift allowance and overtime opportunities.
Key responsibilities
- Set up and operate 5‑axis CNC machines.
- Machine epoxy/PU patterns, fixtures and carbon components.
- Program and edit CNC code for complex components.
- Interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Inspect finished components to ensure quality standards.
- Follow SOPs and machining procedures.
- Troubleshoot machining issues and perform routine maintenance.
- Maintain accurate production and tooling records.
Required profile
- Proven experience as a CNC Machinist with 5‑axis machining.
- Confident in setting, operating and programming CNC machinery.
- Strong understanding of machining processes and materials.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem‑solving skills.
- Good communication and teamwork.
- Commitment to safe working practices.
- Flexibility to work overtime when required.

What we offer
- Competitive hourly rate (£19–£23) plus £5 per hour shift allowance.
- Overtime paid at time and a half.
- 20 days holiday plus Bank Holidays, increasing to 25 days.
