A Level Physics Teacher – Secondary School

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated A Level Physics Teacher to join a high‑achieving secondary school in Tower Hamlets, East London. The role starts full‑time in September 2026 and involves teaching A Level Physics alongside Science for Key Stages 3 and 4 in a forward‑thinking, academically driven environment.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver engaging A Level Physics lessons and teach Science across KS3‑KS4 as required.
• Plan and deliver high‑quality lessons that develop scientific understanding, practical skills and exam technique.
• Monitor student progress, support intervention strategies and contribute to curriculum development.
• Participate in departmental enrichment activities and professional development.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Degree in Physics or a closely related subject.
• Experience teaching Physics at secondary level, preferably including A Level.
• Knowledge of exam specifications such as AQA or OCR is desirable.

Required skills

• Strong subject knowledge across the science curriculum.
• Effective classroom and behaviour management.
• Ability to inspire students and raise attainment in Science.
