A330/A340 Chief Engineer Team Placement – 12.5 months

About the role

Join Airbus in Filton as a placement student on the A330/A340 Chief Engineer’s Team for 12.5 months, starting 16 August 2027. You will work within a highly experienced, friendly and autonomous environment supporting the wing, landing‑gear, fuel and inerting systems of the A330/A340 fleet.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to product evolution by defining and proposing new aircraft technologies.
• Liaise with Overall Aircraft Design, Engineering, Airworthiness, Customer Services, Supply Chain and other teams.
• Support continued airworthiness and safety of the fleet.
• Analyse airline operational requirements and suggest design improvements.
• Identify inefficiencies in existing processes and propose enhancements.
• Develop technical capability and confidence in a diverse, multinational setting.
• Potentially travel to other Airbus sites when opportunities arise.

Required profile

• Undergraduate studying Aerospace, Aeronautical, Mechanical or Systems Engineering; must remain an undergraduate for the full placement.
• Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of project‑management principles (desirable).
• Strong oral and written communication skills, able to summarise complex issues.
• Proactive attitude, relationship‑building and self‑reflection.
