Academic Mentor – Oxbridge Mentoring (Secondary School)

About the role
We are seeking recent top‑university graduates to join a forward‑thinking secondary school in Newham, East London as Academic Mentors. You will work with students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, helping them raise attainment, build confidence and set ambitious university goals.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver targeted intervention sessions in your subject specialism.
- Support pupils in class, small groups and one‑to‑one settings.
- Assist with revision techniques, study skills and academic confidence.
- Act as a positive role model, encouraging aspirations towards Russell Group and Oxbridge pathways.
Required profile
- 2:1 (or higher) degree from a reputable university, preferably a Russell Group or top‑tier institution.
- Strong academic record at A‑Level and GCSE.
- Understanding of UK university entry routes, especially Oxbridge.
- Passion for education and desire to develop a teaching career.
Required skills
- Subject‑specific knowledge at secondary level.
- Ability to plan and deliver focused academic interventions.
What we offer
- Full‑time, fixed‑term contract from September 2026 to July 2027.
- Daily rate of £110‑£120 (salary not displayed publicly).
- Opportunity to progress to salaried teacher training from September 2027.
- Supportive school environment in East London.
