Academic Mentor – Secondary School (Full‑time Contract)

About the role
Join an ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted‑rated secondary school in Tower Hamlets as an Academic Mentor. You will work closely with the Head Teacher to deliver targeted support for pupils who need extra help, while gaining the opportunity to train as a qualified teacher after one academic year.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver small‑group and one‑to‑one interventions for students struggling academically.
- Run booster sessions across a range of subjects, tailored to your subject specialism.
- Support classroom teachers by providing additional academic assistance and feedback.
- Monitor pupil progress and adapt interventions to maximise attainment.
Required profile
- First‑class or 2:1 degree from a recognised university.
- Aspiring primary or secondary teacher willing to commit to a full academic year.
- Strong confidence when working with pupils and staff.
- Team‑player attitude and willingness to go above and beyond for students.

What we offer
- Day rate of £110‑£130 (term‑time only) paid on a contract basis.
- Full‑time role from September 2026, initially on a contract until July 2027.
- Funded teacher‑training pathway after one year of service.
- Excellent transport links in the borough of Tower Hamlets.
