Academic Tutor – Flexible Part‑Time (KS1‑Post‑16)

About the role

We are seeking passionate Academic Tutors to deliver one‑to‑one or small‑group sessions in Maths, English and Science for students from Year 1 through Post‑16. The role involves building meaningful connections and supporting both academic progress and social development.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver engaging, curriculum‑aligned lessons in core subjects following the UK National Curriculum.
• Design and implement personalised lesson plans that address individual learning styles and needs.
• Adapt teaching approaches for students with Special Educational Needs to ensure inclusive learning.
• Foster a positive environment that builds self‑esteem and social skills.
• Maintain regular communication with families to report progress and celebrate achievements.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering effective tuition in Maths, English or Science.
• Strong, up‑to‑date knowledge of the UK National Curriculum.
• Experience working with students who have diverse learning needs, including SEN.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and inspire young learners.
• Willingness to obtain an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service immediately.
