Account Manager - Construction and Engineering

About the role

This position is for an ambitious Account Manager who will help launch a new division within a fast‑growing technical consultancy serving the property, construction, education, healthcare, defence and fire remediation sectors. The role combines hands‑on business development with the opportunity to shape long‑term strategy and eventually lead a team.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage relationships with clients across the property and construction sectors.
• Identify and engage prospective clients through networking, research and business‑development activity.
• Attend client meetings, industry events and sector‑specific conferences.
• Manage incoming enquiries, produce proposals and support onboarding of new clients.
• Maintain an active network of technical professionals and manage the full recruitment lifecycle for contract and permanent roles.
• Collaborate with finance, administration and recruitment colleagues to drive operational excellence.
• Contribute to marketing initiatives, including social media and website content.

Required profile

• Proven business‑development experience within a technical or professional‑services environment.
• Strong commercial awareness and relationship‑building skills.
• Confidence communicating with clients both face‑to‑face and remotely.
• Positive, collaborative and proactive approach.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
