Account Manager

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Account Manager to join a well‑established commercial cleaning provider in Newcastle upon Tyne. You will be the primary point of contact for a portfolio of 15‑20 clients, mainly schools and other commercial premises, ensuring high‑quality service delivery and client satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain strong relationships with assigned clients, handling enquiries by phone and face‑to‑face.
• Collaborate with site teams to share insights, improve processes and uphold cleaning standards.
• Identify and resolve operational issues quickly, developing practical solutions tailored to each client.
• Oversee cleaning schedules, quality checks and compliance with health‑and‑safety regulations.
• Allocate staff and equipment efficiently using company‑provided tools such as mobile phones and iPads.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing multiple sites and teams in a service‑oriented environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust with clients and colleagues.
• Customer‑service background, preferably in account management or retention roles.
• Excellent problem‑solving abilities and a proactive, resourceful approach.
• Highly organised, detail‑oriented and capable of juggling competing priorities.
• Team player who can also work independently when required.

Required skills

• Competence with standard office technology (mobile phone, tablet, basic software).
