Account Manager

About the role

The Account Manager will drive commercial growth for a leading specialist hire provider across Greater Manchester. You will develop and nurture key customer relationships, win new business and expand existing accounts within the construction, M&E and equipment hire sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Generate sustainable hire revenue while adhering to pricing and profitability guidelines.
• Manage and grow relationships with existing customers at head‑office and project‑site levels.
• Identify and secure new opportunities, focusing on subcontractors on major construction projects.
• Promote the full range of M&E, low‑level access and specialist hire solutions.
• Support national account strategies by building strong local partnerships.
• Maintain accurate records, sales activity and pipeline in the CRM system.
• Plan and execute customer visits using structured territory planning.

Required profile

• Proven sales experience in equipment hire, tool hire, construction, M&E or a related field.
• Track record of developing existing accounts and generating new business.
• Experience working with subcontractors and construction project stakeholders.
• Strong relationship‑building skills from site teams to senior decision‑makers.
• Commercially driven with excellent negotiation, presentation and communication abilities.
• Highly organised with strong time‑management and territory‑planning capabilities.
• Self‑motivated, proactive and comfortable working independently.
• Based in Greater Manchester with flexibility to travel across the territory and a full UK driving licence.
