Accountant – 6‑9 Month Fixed‑Term Contract (Hybrid)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced accountant to join a prestigious Newcastle‑based organisation on a 6‑9 month fixed‑term contract starting in September. The role offers hybrid working and the chance to support key financial activities during a busy period.

Key responsibilities

• Preparing monthly management accounts
• Assisting with budgeting and forecasting processes
• Performing balance sheet reconciliations
• Supporting month‑end and year‑end close activities
• Analysing financial data and providing insightful reports
• Monitoring and maintaining financial controls
• Assisting with cash flow forecasting
• Supporting audit requirements and providing relevant documentation
• Working closely with stakeholders across the business to provide financial support and guidance
• Identifying opportunities to improve processes and efficiencies within the finance function

Required profile

• Previous experience in an Accountant or Management Accountant role
• Strong management accounts and reporting experience
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills
• Advanced Excel skills
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
• Strong communication skills and relationship‑building with stakeholders at all levels
• Part‑qualified, qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or qualified by experience
