Accountant – client‑facing role in Uxbridge

About the role

Our client, an independent accountancy practice in Uxbridge, is seeking a qualified Accountant to join their friendly, forward‑thinking team. You will manage a mixed portfolio of SME, limited company and larger business clients, acting as the primary point of contact and delivering high‑quality statutory and management accounting services.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a diverse client portfolio, responding to enquiries promptly and accurately.
• Prepare statutory accounts for SMEs, limited companies, sole traders and larger organisations.
• Produce management accounts and handle complex VAT returns.
• Assist with personal and corporate tax compliance and advisory work.
• Mentor junior team members, providing guidance and support.
• Visit client sites when required and act as the client manager for your portfolio.

Required profile

• Qualified ACA, ACCA or AAT (exceptionally qualified by experience may be considered).
• Previous experience working within a UK accountancy practice.
• Strong knowledge of accounting standards, corporation tax, income tax and VAT.
• Ability to juggle priorities, manage workload and work both independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Microsoft Office Suite.
• Familiarity with accountancy, taxation and practice‑management software.
