Accountant – Full-time, Crawley

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Accountant to join an established client in Crawley. Reporting to the Director and collaborating with the Group Finance Manager, you will be responsible for delivering accurate financial information and supporting the business’s strategic decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare monthly management accounts, forecasts and supporting schedules to meet group reporting deadlines.
• Maintain a full set of accounts, including reconciliations, accounts payable and receivable.
• Manage banking activities, cash‑flow monitoring and treasury operations.
• Produce monthly and annual financial reports such as balance sheets, income statements and cash‑flow statements.
• Process expense reimbursements and oversee company credit‑card usage.
• Liaise with external auditors during annual audits and ensure compliance with group accounting standards.
• Coordinate Companies House filings and statutory tax returns including VAT, PAYE (RTI) and Corporation Tax.
• Support continuous improvement of internal controls and financial processes.

Required profile

• Proven experience in accounting or finance, preferably within construction, manufacturing or related sectors.
• Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ACA) is desirable.
• Strong knowledge of UK tax regulations and financial reporting standards.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
