Accountant – Insurance MGA (Hybrid, London)

About the role

We are recruiting an Accountant for a fast‑growing specialty insurance MGA based in London. The role is hybrid, with 2–3 days per week in the office, and offers exposure to insurance accounting, management reporting and finance transformation projects.

Key responsibilities

• Support insurance and management accounting functions, including journal entries, month‑end close and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting.
• Contribute to finance system implementation and transformation initiatives.
• Work with the Financial Controller to explore AI and automation opportunities within finance.
• Participate in process‑improvement activities across the finance function.

Required profile

• Part‑qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA (ACA preferred, within two exams of full qualification).
• Experience in an MGA or insurance broking environment.
• Strong management accounting background, including journals, month‑end, balance‑sheet reconciliations and budgeting.
• Proven experience in a growing or evolving business with a focus on process improvement.
• Hands‑on experience with finance systems such as Oracle, SAP, Concur or similar.
• Exposure to finance system implementations or transformation projects.
• Proactive, hands‑on approach with strong Excel skills.
• Bordereaux experience is a plus.
