Accountant

About the role

An established and growing manufacturing organisation is looking for a skilled, detail‑oriented Accountant to join its finance team. This full‑time, hybrid role offers the chance to own core finance processes while supporting broader business operations.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Finance Manager with month‑end processes, cash‑flow forecasting and annual budgeting.
• Manage all aspects of accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Prepare accurate financial reports and assist with external audits.
• Carry out credit control activities and maintain strong customer relationships.
• Perform bank reconciliations, oversee petty cash and reconcile stock ledger with the general ledger.
• Produce and submit VAT returns, Intrastat, EC sales reports and excise duty filings.
• Maintain accruals, pre‑payments, fixed assets and depreciation schedules.
• Review and process monthly expense claims.

Required profile

• AAT qualified (or equivalent) with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a finance role.
• Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is highly desirable.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Excellent time‑management, organisational and communication skills.
