Accounting & Credit Specialist

About the role

This permanent position is with a leading international manufacturing group based in Tewkesbury. Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will own the credit control function while supporting broader accounts receivable and month‑end activities.

Key responsibilities

• Manage customer accounts to ensure timely collection in line with credit terms.
• Monitor cash receipts, forecast cash flow and flag any payment risks.
• Run weekly credit control meetings with sales teams across multiple sites.
• Oversee credit insurance declarations and approve credit applications after risk assessment.
• Report key KPIs such as Days Sales Outstanding and calculate customer rebates.
• Support external auditors with accounts receivable queries.
• Assist with VAT reporting, balance‑sheet reconciliations, month‑end journals and accruals.
• Identify and implement process‑improvement initiatives for Credit/AR.

Required profile

• Proven experience in credit control and accounts receivable.
• Basic understanding of financial data, credit reports and VAT.
• Experience supporting month‑end close, including journal processing and accruals.
• Strong communication skills for liaising with internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to evolving business needs.
