Accounting Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join the finance team of a respected specialist insurer in London. The role will own underwriting results reporting, month‑end accounting and financial controls while leading a small team.

Key responsibilities

• Produce monthly, quarterly and annual underwriting results reports covering premiums, claims, reserves and acquisition costs.
• Manage and enhance the end‑to‑end month‑end accounting process.
• Oversee balance‑sheet reconciliations and ensure robust financial controls and compliance.
• Lead, coach and develop a small team of finance professionals.
• Partner with FP&A, actuarial, reinsurance, regulatory reporting and external audit teams.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives across finance processes and reporting.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
• Strong insurance accounting experience, preferably within Lloyd’s or the company market.
• Previous team leadership or management experience.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

• SQL.
