Accounts and Audit Accountant

About the role

This permanent position in Gloucester focuses on preparing financial statements and delivering audit assignments for a diverse client base, ranging from charities to construction firms. The role is ideal for accountants with audit experience who thrive in a professional services environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review financial statements in line with accounting standards.
• Execute audit assignments, ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with clients to collect financial information and resolve queries.
• Assist in the preparation of corporate tax returns and VAT submissions.
• Meet deadlines for all accounting and audit deliverables.
• Provide guidance and technical advice to junior team members.
• Stay updated on changes to accounting and audit regulations.
• Identify and support process‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Qualification or part‑qualification in ACA, ACCA, or an equivalent chartered accountancy body.
• Proven experience in accounts preparation and audit within professional services.
• Strong knowledge of accounting standards and audit practices.
• Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office tools.
• Effective communication skills for client and team interactions.
