Accounts and Tax Manager

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Accounts and Tax Manager to join a fast‑growing chartered accountancy firm in Axminster. You will be responsible for delivering a broad range of accounting, tax and advisory services to a diverse client portfolio, while building trusted relationships and supporting the firm’s growth ambitions.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the preparation and review of accounts, tax returns and audit work for clients ranging from sole traders to larger limited companies.
• Provide advisory and project‑based services, acting as a trusted advisor to clients across various sectors.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships, identifying opportunities for additional services.
• Lead, mentor and develop a team of accountants and tax professionals.
• Collaborate with partners on business development and strategic initiatives.

Required profile

• Qualified ACA, ACCA, CTA, AAT or equivalent.
• Significant experience within an accountancy practice covering accounts, tax and audit.
• Progressed to an Account Manager or Client Manager level and ready for a managerial step.
• Strong analytical mindset with a focus on delivering high‑quality client service.
