Accounts Assistant – 4‑Month Temporary Contract

About the role

We are seeking an Accounts Assistant to join a finance team of five on a four‑month fixed‑term contract. The role offers an immediate start and a competitive rate of £15 per hour, supporting both transactional finance and payroll processes in the Winchester area.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Accounts Payable process and maintain accurate financial records.
• Assist with payroll preparation and perform payroll checks for accuracy.
• Provide ad‑hoc finance and administrative support as required.
• Work extensively with Microsoft Excel to maintain reports and analyse data.
• Support wider finance activities across the department.
• Assist with reconciliations and resolve finance queries.
• Ensure deadlines are met while maintaining a high level of accuracy.

Required profile

• Previous experience in Accounts Payable, Finance Administration, or a similar finance support role.
• Excellent attention to detail and high levels of accuracy.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a busy team environment.
