Accounts Assistant – Construction

About the role

We are a fast‑growing construction business seeking an Accounts Assistant to support the newly established in‑house finance function. This is an ideal opportunity for an early‑career finance professional to gain exposure to a commercial environment and develop alongside senior finance leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Process and accurately code purchase invoices.
• Handle supplier queries and maintain strong relationships.
• Complete bank reconciliations to support cash visibility.
• Assist with weekly payment runs.
• Enter and maintain accurate financial records in the system.
• Support month‑end activities, including journals and accruals.
• Provide general finance administration and filing.
• Contribute to process improvements for systems and procedures.

Required profile

• Early‑career finance professional or existing Accounts Assistant.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Organised, proactive and eager to learn.
• Ability to work at pace in a growing business.
• Construction or project‑based experience is beneficial but not essential.
