Accounts Assistant – Credit Control (Temporary)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Accounts Assistant with a focus on Credit Control to join our busy finance team on a temporary basis. The role is office‑based in Colnbrook and requires immediate availability, offering the chance to work with Sage and Excel in a dynamic environment.

Key responsibilities

• Support the year‑end audit process and respond to auditor queries.
• Perform balance‑sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Reconcile Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable ledgers.
• Assist with month‑end processes, including journals, accruals and pre‑payments.
• Chase outstanding invoices by phone, email and letter, allocate payments and reconcile customer accounts.
• Produce aged debt reports, negotiate payment plans and monitor credit limits.
• Maintain accurate financial records and support management reporting.

Required profile

• Previous experience as an Accounts Assistant with credit control duties.
• Strong working knowledge of Sage and proficiency in Excel.
• Experience with AP, AR and balance‑sheet reconciliations.
• Familiarity with supporting year‑end audits.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
• High attention to detail and ability to manage a busy workload.
• Immediate availability to start.
