Accounts Assistant – Finance Support in Wigan

About the role

We are seeking an Accounts Assistant to join a friendly finance team in Wigan. Working closely with the Finance Manager, you will gain exposure to all areas of the accounts function while supporting a growing business.

Key responsibilities

• Process sales invoices and maintain accurate records.
• Perform bank reconciliations.
• Assist with credit control and customer account management.
• Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies.
• Support month‑end accounting processes.
• Handle finance‑related queries from suppliers and customers.
• Provide administrative support to the wider finance team.
• Maintain high levels of accuracy across all financial transactions.

Required profile

• Previous experience as an Accounts Assistant, Finance Assistant, Accounts Administrator or similar role.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Excellent communication abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Positive, proactive and willing‑to‑learn attitude.
