Accounts Assistant – Finance Support

About the role

We are looking for an Accounts Assistant to join our VW Commercial dealership in Coventry. The role offers a full training programme and the chance to develop across all areas of the accounting function, whether you are starting your finance career or already have experience.

Key responsibilities

• Daily banking and posting of bank transactions.
• Managing the sales ledger, credit control and debtor queries.
• Processing purchase ledger items, coding invoices, reconciling supplier statements and running payments.
• Posting nominal ledger journals, including inter‑company entries.
• Maintaining petty cash and supporting month‑end close activities.

Required profile

• Strong numeracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to work under pressure while maintaining accuracy.
• Good communication skills for face‑to‑face, phone and email queries.
• Willingness to learn and develop a career in finance.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Basic knowledge of ADP (training provided if not familiar).
