Accounts Assistant – Finance Team

About the role

We are looking for an Accounts Assistant to join our busy finance team in the Medway Towns. The role is on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract with the possibility of becoming permanent for the right candidate. You will work in a dynamic office environment supporting day‑to‑day financial operations.

Key responsibilities

• Process sales and purchase orders using SAP.
• Raise customer invoices and process supplier invoices.
• Accurately code and post financial transactions.
• Reconcile customer and supplier accounts and resolve related queries.
• Liaise with internal departments to address transaction issues.
• Record bank payments, receipts and multi‑currency transactions.
• Handle company credit‑card transactions and employee expenses.
• Assist with weekly and month‑end payment runs (BACS and TT).
• Produce monthly aged debtor and creditor reports.
• Provide cover and support across the finance team and undertake additional administrative duties as required.

Required profile

• Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant or similar finance role.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Ability to work accurately, meet deadlines and solve problems.
• Good communication skills.
