Accounts Assistant – Finance Team

About the role

Robert Half is recruiting an Accounts Assistant to join a growing finance team in Bellshill. This permanent, full‑time position offers a unique blend of hands‑on accounting work and a structured training contract for candidates aiming to achieve a professional qualification.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain purchase ledger and manage supplier relationships.
• Administer sales ledger, credit control and cashbook activities.
• Process loan and debt administration, accruals, pre‑payments and journal entries.
• Prepare VAT and CIS returns and support year‑end audit processes.
• Assist with management accounts preparation and company secretarial duties.
• Provide ad‑hoc finance and project‑based support as required.

Required profile

• Currently studying or planning to study AAT, ACCA, CIMA or ICAS.
• Organised, detail‑oriented and eager to learn.
• Strong communicator with a proactive approach.
• Motivated to build a long‑term accounting career.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience using finance systems.
