Accounts Assistant – Finance Team

About the role

We are seeking an Accounts Assistant to join a fast‑paced finance team in Leeds. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will support day‑to‑day accounting operations, ensuring accuracy and timely processing of financial transactions.

Key responsibilities

• Process a high volume of supplier invoices and payment requests.
• Match invoices to supporting documentation and resolve discrepancies.
• Manage approval workflows and uphold internal controls.
• Reconcile supplier statements and investigate outstanding items.
• Prepare payment runs and associated reconciliations.
• Respond to supplier and internal stakeholder queries promptly.
• Maintain accurate financial records and documentation.
• Support month‑end activities and reporting requirements.
• Liaise with various departments to resolve financial queries.
• Assist with process improvements and ad‑hoc finance projects.

Required profile

• Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant, Purchase Ledger or Accounts Payable role.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high accuracy.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Confident communication and relationship‑building abilities.
• Proactive, solutions‑focused approach.
