Accounts Assistant – Glasgow

About the role

We are partnering with a construction firm in Glasgow to find an experienced Accounts Assistant. The successful candidate will support the finance team, taking ownership of the purchase ledger and a range of day‑to‑day financial administration tasks. This is a full‑time, office‑based role within a fast‑moving environment.

Key responsibilities

• Process supplier invoices accurately and on time.
• Reconcile supplier statements and maintain records.
• Prepare and run payment batches.
• Complete daily bank reconciliations and assist with cash‑flow monitoring.
• Process employee expenses and perform VAT checks.
• Manage the finance inbox, handling incoming invoices and queries.
• Act as the main contact for suppliers and internal stakeholders on purchase‑ledger matters.
• Investigate and resolve invoice and supplier account queries.
• Support month‑end activities, including intercompany recharges and financial reporting.
• Reconcile company credit cards and maintain supporting documentation.
• Analyse timesheet data and assist with labour‑cost reporting.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a transactional accounts role with strong knowledge of accounts payable.
• Proficiency in accounting software.
• Strong organisational and numerical skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to build effective working relationships.

What we offer

• Salary £30,000 – £32,000 per year.
• Full‑time schedule: Monday‑Friday, 08:30‑17:00.
