Accounts Assistant

About the role

We are seeking an Accounts Assistant to join the finance team of a fast‑growing multi‑channel retailer in Manchester. The role offers exposure to a broad range of accounting duties within a supportive and collaborative environment.

Key responsibilities

• Process high volumes of purchase invoices, including matching, batching and coding.
• Reconcile supplier statements and resolve account queries.
• Prepare and run supplier payments.
• Perform bank reconciliations and cash posting.
• Assist with sales ledger, credit control and month‑end activities such as journal entries.
• Maintain accurate financial records in the finance system.
• Liaise with suppliers and internal departments to settle finance queries.
• Support continuous improvement of finance processes.

Required profile

• Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant, Purchase Ledger or Finance Assistant role.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Proactive problem‑solving and good communication skills.
• AAT qualification or studies (advantageous but not essential).
