Accounts Assistant

About the role

This permanent, full‑time position supports the finance function of a growing business operation. Based in Enfield Lock, you will work on‑site with the option to work from home two days a week after probation.

Key responsibilities

• Handle day‑to‑day accounting activities including accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, month‑end close and cash flow.
• Prepare VAT returns and coordinate corporation tax compliance with external advisers.
• Process and maintain accounts payable for the Head Office.
• Perform balance‑sheet reconciliations and resolve accounting discrepancies.
• Assist with statutory audits by preparing schedules and supporting documentation.
• Prepare financial reports and support month‑end and year‑end closing processes.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of relevant UK accounting experience.
• Accounting degree or qualification such as AAT, CIMA, ACCA (part‑qualified accepted).
• Excellent numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
• Flexible, team‑oriented with strong communication skills.
• Ability to commute regularly to Enfield Lock (postcode EN3).
• East Asian language skills (Korean, Japanese, Mandarin, Cantonese) are a plus but not essential.

Required skills

• Proficient in MS Office.

What we offer

• Annual basic salary of £35,000 (subject to experience).
• 28 days annual leave (20 holidays + 8 bank holidays).
