Accounts Assistant

About the role

Our client, a well‑established SME in Welwyn Garden City, is seeking an Accounts Assistant to join a busy finance team. The role is office‑based, full‑time (9:00 am–5:00 pm) and offers a salary of £32,000–£35,000 per year.

Key responsibilities

• Process and code supplier invoices
• Maintain supplier accounts and resolve queries
• Reconcile supplier statements
• Prepare UK and international payment runs
• Process expenses, credit‑card transactions and ad‑hoc payments
• Complete multi‑currency bank reconciliations
• Prepare accruals, pre‑payments and journals
• Carry out balance‑sheet and fixed‑asset reconciliations
• Calculate customer and supplier rebates
• Take customer credit‑card payments
• Provide holiday cover for credit control and sales ledger
• Support the Finance Manager with additional duties

Required profile

• Early‑stage AAT qualification (Level 2 or 3) – QBE also considered
• Strong recent Accounts Payable experience
• Hands‑on attitude with willingness to support other finance areas
• Comfortable working in a small‑company environment
