Accounts Assistant

About the role

Our client is seeking an experienced Accounts Assistant to manage day‑to‑day accounting activities, VAT returns and support month‑end processes for a business operation based in Enfield Lock.

Key responsibilities

• Handle day‑to‑day accounting activities (AR, AP, GL, month‑end close and cash flow).
• Prepare VAT returns and coordinate corporation tax compliance with external advisers.
• Process and maintain accounts payable for Head Office.
• Perform balance‑sheet reconciliations and resolve accounting discrepancies.
• Assist with statutory audits by preparing schedules and supporting documentation.
• Prepare financial reports and support month‑end and year‑end closing processes.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of relevant accounting experience in the UK.
• Accounting degree or qualification (AAT, CIMA, ACCA – part‑qualified accepted).
• Excellent numerical skills with strong attention to detail.
• Flexible, team‑oriented mindset and excellent communication skills.
• Ability to commute to Enfield Lock (EN3) regularly.
• Any East Asian language (Korean, Japanese, Mandarin, Cantonese) is a plus.

What we offer

• Competitive annual salary of £35,000.
