Accounts Assistant Part Time

About the role

This part‑time position offers an excellent opportunity to join a well‑established accountancy practice in Brighton. Working closely with an experienced manager, you will support a growing portfolio of clients while developing specialist knowledge in service charge accounting, dormant company accounts and trust tax returns.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare draft service charge accounts by collating financial records from managing agents and self‑managed developments.
• Allocate expenditure accurately to schedules and cost categories.
• Prepare and submit dormant company accounts using IRIS software.
• Verify client invoices for correctness and relevance.
• Assist in the preparation of trust tax returns and related calculations.
• Develop strong client relationships through professional communication.
• Support the manager in day‑to‑day client portfolio management.
• Help manage team workflow to meet deadlines and contribute to process improvements.

Required profile

• Minimum three years’ experience within an accountancy practice.
• Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
• Excellent organisational abilities and the capacity to manage your own workload.
• Professional, reliable and well‑organised approach.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
