Accounts Assistant – Part‑time Fixed‑term (Maternity Cover)

About the role

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Accounts Assistant to join a well‑established business on a part‑time maternity cover contract. The role is office‑based, offering 20‑25 hours per week across 4‑5 days, and runs for a fixed 9‑12 month term.

Key responsibilities

• Accurate processing of purchase invoices
• Supplier statement reconciliations
• Reconciliation of customer accounts
• Preparing and issuing customer invoices and statements
• Assisting with month‑end accounting duties
• Managing credit control activities
• Supporting the wider finance team with ad‑hoc accounts and administrative tasks

Required profile

• Previous experience in an accounts or finance role
• Strong administrative abilities and attention to detail
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
• Organisational and time‑management competence
• Proactive, self‑motivated and flexible attitude

Required skills

• Microsoft Excel
• Sage 50 (preferred but not essential)
